When Emily contacted me wanting photos in an urban setting, I knew exactly where I wanted to take them….The Grove in St. Louis! I had been wanting to do a session here for the longest time! It is such a cool, fun, and artsy pocket of St. Louis. I read up on the Grove since I am not originally from St. Louis, but I love knowing the history of places/buildings/neighborhoods/etc etc. I am such a sucker for a good story. So reading about how this area was brought back to life by some amazing people with lots of vision, I was in love. I love the idea of restoring buildings and bringing them back to life over building new ones and using up more and more land.
Anyway, we had the perfect afternoon. It was a Monday, so most of the businesses were closed, and it felt like we had the Grove mostly to ourselves. Which worked out since we had a little one with us and he had the freedom to run more. I wish I lived closer to the Grove, because I would be there like every day. Grabbing coffee or some yummy grub. The vibrant colors and amazing murals make me feel so alive with creativity.
If it is not obvious who the star of the show was, I will give you a hint. Sweet little Archie. I mean, he was LOVING the camera. 🙂 I would say we all had a great time!!! This family is completely awesome and love how they were just themselves. 🙂 And if anyone lets me do album covers, they are automatically my favorite!
