Mary and Shane | Logan Square – Chicago Engagement Session

Recently Heath and I traveled to Chicago to photograph Mary and Shane’s engagement! Well, I did the photos while Heath graciously ubered us around, which was soooo awesome! I always love to be able to just hop out here and there at whim; not having to search for parking.

We met Mary and Shane at their cool historic Logan Square apartment, where I got to meet their sweet new kitten Wilma. Such a playful little girl! I am more of a dog person, but I really loved playing with Wilma! Such a personality! One of the things Mary saved for the session was reading notes they wrote to each other and hadn’t read yet. Omg. I was so taken with this. They have a jar where they write random notes to each other to save for a special time to read which is seriously the sweetest! I was so touched. After they read their notes to each other, Shane played the piano for Mary and then they had some pie and we headed out. Our first stop was Humbolt Park. Chicago had been so dreary for so long that they hadn’t seen the sun in awhile. So, it was sooo awesome the sun shined bright for their engagement session!  After the park we hit up the infamous Chicago postcard wall and then walked around Logan Square.

The weather really cooperated for us and we were all so grateful! I am sooo excited for Mary and Shane’s Union Station wedding next September! Until then….
