Having kids close together isn’t easy. I should know, mine are 13 months apart. I really didn’t know how life could seem any harder during the baby and toddler years. I felt like I was always on survival mode, and just really needed someone to throw me a life saver. Now that my kids are beyond the toddler stages, I hold an extreme special place in my heart for other parents who were like we were with toddlers very close in age. However, for this sweet family, they have 3 close in age, and my mind is completely blown! I don’t know how they do it, but however they are doing things, they are doing AMAZING! The boys were so full of life and fun, while the little sister, only 2 months old was the cutest and chillest baby ever. I loved our time together last weekend! Also, bonus that they brought Grandma along! Love when people want to include grandparents in the family photos! :-) Thinking about how cool it would have been if I had cool photos of me with my Grandfather when I was young always makes me excited for other people who think to do things like that.
The other week, I got to spend a fun Sunday morning with this family and their new new baby girl! I've been photographing this family since their oldest was 6 months, and feel so honored that I get to visually document the different phases of their life. And by the way, the have the BEST DOG EVER! :-)
Congratulations again Sarah and Peter!
This past May, Heath and I photographed a wedding of one of the sweetest couple's ever, Amy and Jerry. I had no clue that their friends who were present at this wedding were on the brink of engagement.
Enter Adi and Dutch.
I must say when Adi contacted me I was instantly thrilled. Based on how awesome Amy and Jerry were, I just knew Adi and Dutch would be equally as awesome. For the most part, awesome people keep awesome friends. Its a real thing.
When I met with Adi and Dutch we instantly hit it off. And hearing their sweet proposal story of how Dutch proposed to Adi underneath a willow tree, I just knew we need to find a great willow tree to set the stage for their engagement photos. I am beyond thrilled with how awesome our session was together. We had the best time, and I am so excited for their wedding!
Growing up I always had such a love for horses. My affinity for these beautiful creatures turned into me sketching them all the time. Studying them through books, examining and memorizing every detail of their body to help strengthen my ability to sketch them accurately.
One day when I was 14, my Mother's boss held a work party at his ranch in Texas, where we were living at the time. They had a handful of horses that we were allowed to ride. Unlike trail riding, which I had done many times before, this was different. Not only were we able to ride freely all over their property, but for the first and only time in my life I was riding on a horse that was galloping!!! It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life.
Since then, my obsession with horses just grew. Like my passion for sketching them, I also had a dream of photographing them. Something about them is incredibly majestic to me, and I wanted to capture that. I know I will never have my own horse, but feel so lucky to at least live down the street from a few amazing horses. I have to say, I was so amazed seeing their personalities and quirks. These creatures are full of spunk, sweetness and affection.
