I first was introduced to Kaitlyn at her friend’s wedding in which I photographed and Kaitlyn was a bridesmaid. That wedding was incredible! I remember loving the wedding party; everyone was so so fun and I laughed so much with them. So when Kaitlyn and Elliott contacted me I was so excited! I knew we would be a good fit with each other which would be a win-win for both of us.
There is so much to say about Kaitlyn and Elliott’s wedding day. First of all, their wedding was held at the Forest Park Golf Club which had been hit by the terrible tornado that came through St. Louis only 3 weeks before. The state of Forest Park and the Golf Club was not good for awhile which worried Kaitlyn and Elliott. However, with so many good people working on the clean up efforts in the park and the city, there was a huge clean up the week leading up to the wedding. Despite the tornado damage to the park and to the golf club, the wedding was beautiful! I felt like this seemed symbolic to Kaitlyn and Elliott as a couple. Given various setbacks, they seem to have an energy about them of ‘whatever will be, will be’. A few more examples to prove this……not stressing about the big rain prediction over the time of their outdoor ceremony AND not stressed at all about the Maid of Honor’s dress that completely unraveled right before the ceremony. Most people would have let these dilemmas really put a damper on their day. But not them. They were just happy to be getting married and enjoyed their friends and family. As for the dress, someone found a bunch of safety pins and rigged that dress back together. Genius! And for whatever reason, the weather held off the rain long enough for their ceremony and some fun photos after. But later it really stormed!
There is just something truly so special about Kaitlyn and Elliott, and we are incredibly happy they found each other and can spend their lives together. It was a true honor for both Heath and I to be at their wedding documenting their day through our lenses. I felt so many happy feelings the entire day as well as while I was working on their photos. It was definitely hard to narrow down a highlight reel from their day without wanting to just post every single picture. So here are some of my favorites from their special wedding day!
